Making the Brand – Social Media for the Long Haul

I actually watched part of this panel as it was streamed, probably the first time I’ve “attended” a panel discussion that was live in this way. While I didn’t hear anything “new”, there was a lot of actionable information if you were positioned to take advantage of it, for Social Media and Brand Building.

Some of this ties in to the SocComm Videos  I took of Gary Vaynerchuk on Febuary 10th, 2009 NY

Venue: WIRED & CONDÉ NAST (FOUR TIMES SQUARE, 19TH FLOOR NE…)
Start: 11:00 am End: 1:00 pm

About: Witness the fireworks in what’s sure to be an insightful and fast-paced morning of strategies, tactics, tricks and tips as social media heavyweights, Gary Vaynerchuk, Host of WineLibrary.TV, and Ian Schafer, Founder/CEO of interactive marketing agency Deep Focus, “bring the “Thunder” and “Lightning” to a discussion of social media best practices for building, maintaining and sustaining your corporate brand. AdWeek‘s digital editor and notorious twitterer Brian Morrissey joins the discussion to lend journalistic insight and weight to the discussion, while renowned Wired.com NYC Bureau Chief John Adell moderates the action.

I think, at the end of the day, I’m thinking about this, myself, we’re all asking the question

“How do I take Social Media and turn it into money”?

Certainly, Gary has figured it out – but not many others, have.
