Just reading about a study of Chief Marketing Officers and Social Media (no links, I’m writing from my IPhone) saying that 55% are not planning on using Social Media next year.
According to the study, social media advertising is very effective but selling the inventory is much harder. Ha.
But the Epsilon study also said 55% of the CMO’s who had not yet employed Web Analytics, plan on employing Web Analytics!
So….the next question I had, as I read this, is how much of the 55% of CMO’s who don’t plan on using Social Media BUT DO PLAN on using Web Analytics, overlap?
I doubt the overlap is 100%, but what if it is 50 or 60%?
I do think that Social Media would have a “easier” path to adoption in corporations were it to fall under the umbrella of web analytics rather than marketing or communications.
