Peach Direct - Amended Post

Posted by Marshall on March 31, 2007 | Link It

I wrote this post several weeks ago regarding Peach Direct and GE Money Bank that was highly critical of both companies.  Since then the situation has changed and I have decided to rewrite the post in light of new developments.

Originally I ordered two laptops and a monitor on December 11th 2006 and had been billed for the entire order even though I never received the order.  After several interactions with Peach Direct and GE Money Bank, the situation was resolved in the last week to make it up to me.

Peach Direct had some supply chain problems late last year that caused about 153 customers to not get their orders in a timely way (I got this info from someone at Peach Direct who I spoke with) - demand outpaced supply and they were unprepared for it - including Call Center employees and contractors that had not been trained for this situation.

As I left it, Peach Direct, woke up, started fixing these problems and tracked down every one of the 153 people, including me, and resolved the issues - one by one.

I won't say that Peach Direct is blameless here - or that someone should not fall on their sword for this, but they have really tried to bend backwards now to be nice.

In the spirit of reciprocation - I've decided to remove my story about Peach Direct and leave it as a situation that's been resolved and hopefully won't happen again to anyone else who orders from them.

Peach Direct Customer Service

At Peach Direct, we believe that consumers have the right to be ignorant. If you are so stupid to buy our overpriced products at outrageous iterest rates and put up with horrible customer service and unbelieveably long waits for your order to arrive then you deserve what you get.

Peach Direct earns over $500,000 per day from idiots like you and our Founder, CEO, and investors are extremely happy to have such massive demand from ignorant consumers.

Keep up the good work. Take out a second Peach Direct credit card. Enjoy immediate gratification. Who cares what your future credit worthiness is going to be like. Carpe Diem. Seize the Day!!!

You are right, Peach Direct sucks and I have created a link from my site (www.peachdirectsucks.com) to your site in an attempt to rank higher on Google than peach direct’s own site.

24% interest for overpriced products, rude customer service, delayed delivery. Yea, peach direct is targeting trailor park trash like me. Instead of chasing wealthy people, they just chase po people and make money the old fashioned way, one dolla at a time.

I placed an order in April. The product was not shipped after five weeks. I called Peach Direct several times and reached pleasant operators who could not answer any of my questions. So, I canceled the order. This was done politely and quickly by the operator, and showed up on my order history page as canceled that same day.

I tried once more early this month to order something else, figuring that maybe there was a problem that might have fixed. This time the order remained pending after three weeks. The very polite operator had no answers about why this happened again. I then canceled the order which the operator did quickly and politely, and it showed up on my order page as canceled almost immediately.

I probably will never try to order from Peach Direct again because they seem to have trouble actually shipping products.

I have no problems with the service personnel with the exception that they are not able to access certain kinds of information to properly answer queries from customers.

PeachDirect double-sucks!
I ordered from peach direct. Never received order after 4 weeks. Had trouble reaching customer service. They don’t reply to emails and very hard to reach via phone. Customer service couldn’t determine status of order so I decided to cancel. They refuse to cancel my order - but finally did it after a good argument - UNBELIEVABLE! And yes - I was paying interest on an order never received. It took 3 months until charges were removed from my account - and the credit was done only after submitting an online BBB complaint. It’s crazy that they’re allowed to continue operating! Be sure to file all compliants at the online BBB!

I ordered from Peach Direct on June 24th. I ordered a computer (higher end model), Ipod, and a speaker system by logitech. I recieved the speakers in about a week, but they still have not sent out the computer or Ipod. Same problems with customer service not knowing anything. Will try this dkim@peachdirect.com. The speakers are great and even though getting itchy about the computer, willing to give it a little more time before I declare scandal. I believe the Computer and Ipod are more of a commodity than the speakers, so maybe having trouble with stock. The Computer model number is posted on the website (close enough to find anyways). I looked at HP.com, found it and their website lists a ship date from them at about 7-15 days depending on options. I will also point out that shipping was rediculous overpriced, but that is what I get for not taking better care of my credit in the first place. Take care of that and you do not have to use Peach Direct or finger hut, just order straight from HP, Dell, Alienware, etc.

Few months ago I recieved a catalog from PD and credit app. I didn’t even bother looking at it left it alone for about a month. So I finally apply for the credit card LORD and BEHOLD I was approved $2000 credit limit highest I ever been approved for credit since I like to pay for everything in cash. I did the credit app over the phone the after being approved the CS Rep told me I’ll be credited a $100 with my first purchase. I declined the offer thought I’ll wait till the holiday season. Semptember rolls around I think I am ready for my first purchase I get online GOGGLED PD scrolled down a bit only to find tons SCAM reports on this company after reading the horror stories which were quite a few I called PD up and closed the account immediately. I recieved my letter a week later which I keep for my records just in it case it comes back to bite in the A**. Keep posting your stories Coporate America there is a Rise and Fall to every Empire

Received a PeachDirect magazine in the mail. Thanks for the head’s up on this business. In the trash this one goes with the others we received. Pretty nice merchandize but what good does that do if you can’t get your order. About the computers, yes order direct from Dell, HP, etc. you can get great extended coverage on your computer that way too. This is like a glorified “Rent a Center.”

I have read all these posts I have ordered from peach Direct as well I had one issue with them that was corrected.I have received most of my orders within a week of ordering I don’t know if this is a Peach bash site or what so i am posting here to tell people that this young company is changing and learning. Not every company starts out perfect they are improving I have had better experiences with this company. So before you read all the negative posts and forge an opinion I say try them out if you don’t like the way they do business simply cancel your account.

I ordered a laptop from Peach Direct in November of 2006 by March of 2007 I had not received the merchandise but was getting a bill. I called GE Money Bank and they said they had to wait for the money to be refunded back to them from Peach Direct. Peach Direct refunded all but $94 and won’t give me any answers at all to why this problem is still not solved. GE Money Bank is trying to charge me $598 for a laptop that was never received but neither GE or Peach Direct can tell me why I should pay this money that is showing up negatively on my credit report. All I get over the phone is ran around in circles and no answers given. I am a single mother of two that has better things to do with my time than burn up the minutes on my cell phone trying to get nowhere. Can anybody please tell me how to get a response from these companies, so I can get this removed off my credit report? I have disputed the charges on my credit report twice but they have done nothing but update the items instead of removing them.

I am a GE Money card holder and customer of this so called Peach Direct company, I bought a compac presario laptop computer this was in December 2006, three weeks ago it stared moving slower and slower when login on to e-mail and other sites until I called in to HP and they told me that they would trouble shoot the problem to see if they can fix it, but instead I took it to Best Buy and Circuit City where both companies ran some diagnostic test to really determine what the problem was and they both told me the same thing and said that the hard drive had to be replaced which would cost approximatley $400.
