Avinash Kaushik did a study the other day on Top Ranked Web Analytics Blogs and guess who is #2 on the list?
It turns out, last week, that Webmetricsguru was also the highest ranked blog in Know More Media's growing empire of 60+ blogs for Technorati Ranking, Unique Visitors and RSS Feed Subscriptions. I'm still up on top this week for Unique Visitors, Visits and RSS Subscribers which is growing steadly.
Avinash went after the most common tag to evaluate Web Metrics blogs "Web Analytics"
"In any report context is king. A simply table with ranking would have sufficed, but it would not be as insightful. I decided to add Technorati rank to show in the global context of all the blogs in the world how are our web analytics blogs doing. The decision to add Links to Sites ratio was made because I thought it gave key insights to higher rankings: breadth (more sites that link to you) matter more than depth (same sites who link to you multiple times). That was fascinating.
......How long each blog has been around also seemed like it might add great context to the ranking (how long does it take to get to #1 or who can get how far how quickly etc etc). In the end I decided to leave it out (can you guess why?).
I think Avanish left out time the blog was in existance because his blog is new (as is mine, actually, only having been around about 4 months as of this writing).
The rest of the blogs that are mentioned such as Increasing your website’s conversion rate by Robbin Steif, I will subscribe to (I recognize Robin from the WebAnalyticsDymystified Yahoo group I just joined....in fact, maybe I was the 2000th member to join (over last weekend).
That would be a laugh - if it really turned out that I was the 2000th member to join.

Congrats Marshall, you're doing a great job and your blog is a must-read for me.
