New York Tweetup at Havana Central – August 27th

Posted by Marshall Sponder on August 26, 2009 | Link It

I’ll be at the Havana Central Tweetup taking place  Thursday, August 27th, 2009 between 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the 113th Street and Broadway location (see the video below).

As a Web Analyst I’ve found Social Media tools such as Alterian SM2 Techrigy, Radian6, next to useless in geo locating food bloggers and others who might be interested in an event like this, and that, social networks like Meetup and local directories are usually much, much more effective – in fact, I wrote a post about it  last month.

In this regard, Twitter‘s new geo-location capabilities, as highlighted by TechCrunch‘s post on Twitter Can Now Know Where You Tweet, should go a long way toward plugging a hole that Social Media monitoring tools have had – they’re been lousy and geolocation, period.

Anyway, if your coming to the Havana Central Tweetup we can talk about it over a Havana Central Classic Mojito or two.
