I will say this … we know a couple of things - that the visitor was looking for Vanessa
Hudgen's nude photo, that much is obvious; I won't publish it here but you can find it at http://eclecticcommons.telldat.com/2007/09/08/vanessa-hudgens-zac-morality-and-disney-world/.

It's also evident the visitor, whoever they were, looked at up to 4 blog posts of mine (or 4 pageviews/page refreshes).  Webmetricsguru.com is ranking #5 today for the query that brought the 500,000th visitor - http://www.google.com/search?q=vanessa%20hudgens%20pictures&revid=268035080&sa=X&oi=revisions_inline&resnum=0&ct=broad-revision&cd=2.

Oh well, now on the 1 millionth visitor (I wonder if I can hit that number by years end…maybe).

Happy to say the 500,000th visit to Webmetricsuguru.com will happen today - probably late this afternoon, on September 10th, 2007.

Most of the time, a pageview represents reading a blog post; on average my visitors are reading close to 2 of my posts per visit.

The RSS Subscribers briefly went past 2000 subscribers but I knew that it would take another month or two to reach and hold that level - since some of the subscribers were being drawn in on posts that are more buzz related - and I stretch to make them about Web Metrics - but the audience clearly is different for a buzz story than most of my other content.

But it's good to have something to offer everyone - and that's what I've tried to do here…if I just wrote about pageviews, visits, uniques, standards, it would be more narrowly focused, but less appealing to a wider audience - and I want the wider audience(s).
