Upcoming Speaking Engagements – Web Journal – October 4th, 2011

I’m going to be speaking on the subject of Influence next Wednesday, October 12th, in NYC at Social Media Marketing and Monitoring 2011.

I encourage readers to attend, and spread the message as there is a fantastic lineup for this conference including Peter Shankman, Josh Richman,  Michelle Horowitz, Keith Blanchard, Brian Reich, Joelle Muscante, Dan Woolsey, Asif Khan, Christine Perkett, Pierre-Loic Assayag (who I’ll be debating), Seb Hempstead, Chase McMichael, Josh Mendelsohn, Andrew Beranbom, Liela Thabet, Curtis Hougland (who I have worked with at Attention), Avi Savar and Abhijit Sahay along with Luke Brynley-Jones who is the event organizer and whose conferences I have spoken in here, London, Boston, etc.

…..

My session starts after lunch but right before tea-time and is taking place at the Tribeca Cinemas – 9.00am to 5.30pm, 54 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013

I’ll also be speaking at the upcoming Social CRM conference on November 3rd, also in NYC, in the same location.

The Social CRM conference is a special case – it’s different than the others I’ve spoken at and has some interesting opportunities where I would say to my readers – attend this one especially if your as forward thinking as I am.

Some pretty damn impressive people are speaking at the Social CRM conference – and as this is the hottest subject now being discussed (along with Big Data – maybe Luke ought to create a conference for that subject next year) that it’s almost a must attend for anyone in NYC serious about implementing Social CRM.   I am not yet sure what panel I’ll be on but here’s the lineup.

Frank Eliason, Jon Bird, Dr. Natalie Petouhoff (who I’m familiar with but haven’t yet met), Adam Metz, Adena DeMonte, Brian Reich, Richard Hughes, Tatyana Kanzaveli, Seb Hempstead (a good friend who heads Brandwatch here in the US), Luke Brynley-Jones, Josh Mendelsohn, and me.

Wow!

And one more speaking engagement to announce, for November 9th (my birthday) in Providence Rhode Island, at The Next Level by Anthony Gemma, who is well known in all of Rhode Island for his MediaPeel company as well as his political aspirations for US Congress.  I will be the guest on Anthony’s show for an entire 2 hours and the broadcast will be online and across all of Rhode Island and parts of Southern Connecticut.

Honored to be invited to speak about Social Media Analytics to the good people of Rhode Island, where I spend a lot of time (I wrote most of my book in Rhode Island during weekends there)

….

I think the timing is right to look at how Social Media Analytics might play into next year’s Political Campaigns here in the US.

Certainly, I have come across analytics companies that have aspirations to chart the our political future, and I also have a desire to be invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos (besides the On The Top conference I attended earlier this year in Davos).   My feeling is there isn’t anyone in Davos that is speaking yet, about the real issues with collecting the DATA they say they want and are more and more, depending on, to do what some claim to be … world planning.

I’ll just stick to Rhode Island for now, and speak to how Social Media Analytics could be intelligently set up and harnessed for local political campaigns (though we have not set up any agenda for the interview), but were I asked to attend Davos for the World Economic Forum, I would go (assuming I could round up sponsors for the expenses – attending the WEF isn’t cheap, and  I think you must be invited).

There’s also an off chance I may be in Morocco at the end of this month for a conference I was invited to, but haven’t decided if I want to attend – that is still under discussion.
