Over the weekend a recording of last week’s AWARNENESS NETWORK Webinar was made available - here’s the link to the entire recording which also has another link with my presentation on SlideShare.

There was also an email sent out to about 1000 registrants with this link.

Thank you for attending our webinar: Social Media Analytics: Effective Tools for Building, Interpreting, and Using Metrics

Thank you for participating in our webinar, Social Media Analytics: Effective Tools for Building, Interpreting, and Using Metrics with Marshall Sponder. We hope you enjoyed it.

The archived webinar recording and slides are now available.

You can also download chapter 9 of Social Media Analytics: Effective Tools for Building, Interpreting, and Using Metrics here.

A Message From Marshall Sponder
Glad all of you signed up for the Awareness Webinar on 8/25 focusing on Measuring Content Effectiveness. In addition to downloading chapter 9 I want to invite attendees to check out the Social Media Analytics book tour over at McGraw Hill as well as the Technorati Interview I gave earlier this month.

Finally, I hope many of you will take a look at Social Media Analytics over at Amazon or at Barnes and Noble, for the Nook. The electronic versions (whose links I provided) provide instant gratification, or you order a hard copy. While I gave out some of the information which went into writing Social Media Analytics, there is far more in there which I know will help you make better, more informed decisions about social media metrics and Analytics.

And. . . I’m only a tweet away @webmetricsguru or @smanalyticsbook. Thanks again for attending my Awareness Webinar.

Hope you enjoy the webinar – there were technical issues at the beginning, but once we got going, everything went smoothly.

Take me to the SONAR.ME

Posted by Marshall Sponder on August 30, 2011 | Link It

I spent 3 hours tonight learning a bit more about SONAR.ME at SONAR’s headquarters in Chelsea, NYC.

Sonar.me is a iPhone/iPad application that allows you to check in to a location in Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook, all at once.  In addition, it has the ability to cross-relate your check-in with other people you may be connected to on your social graph, or should be connected to.

Being a mobile – geolocation application, much like Foursquare, though much younger, as of yet, Sonar.me uses an analytics platform called Mixpanel to manage much of it’s Analytics (http://mixpanel.com/streams/?from=partner) .

I was able to see and interact with the Mixpanel data tonight, as well as suggest improvements for tracking and Analytics.

There is a lot of room for SONAR.ME to cut data in finer slices than Foursquare is doing today – and we largely talked about what the landscape might look like were SONAR to do this.

Analytics being used by SONAR.ME

In addition to Mixpanel (Mobile activity)
- Sailthru (Email Clickthrough)
- Google Analytics (Webpage traffic)
- Awe.sm Links – Using specialized links on Twitter and live marketing to track marketing effectiveness
- Facebook and Twitter Analytics

While I briefly looked at Sailthru, I did not get to see all of the analytics offerings SONAR.ME has in house (they are in the same office as BUZZD.com).

One of the main challenges that SONAR, or any mobile app, needs to face is how to motivate people to use the platform regularly, hopefully, daily.

I gave SONAR.ME a great deal of my own opinions, which also moved them forward.  More to say about SONAR.ME after I process what I just saw tonight.

PROVIDENCE, RI Book Signing on 9/15 and other Announcements

Posted by Marshall Sponder on August 30, 2011 | Link It

I’m happy to announce a Providence RI Book Signing for Social Media Analytics on 9/15 – which will be the second signing, following the 8/18 book signing in NYC.  I wrote most of Social Media Analytics in Providence, mostly over weekends, while putting the finishing touches on it in Brooklyn, NY and London, UK.  It only makes sense to have a book signing in Providence, as well.

I hoped to have another book signing in NYC during early to mid September  @Converseon, but so far that hasn’t materialized; if anything changes, I’ll let my readers know.

I also want to announce a London, UK book signing on 9/27 at The Hospital Club, sponsored by Integrasco.com; this is largely and invite only event, as a result I do not, as yet,  have a url for it, but the signing details are set and the invite list is growing quickly, with several Fortune  brands attending.

I’m excited about the London book signing – and feel much at home, among friends, when I visit London (these days, about every 3 or 4 months).  It’s possible I may do a couple of informal events in Brighton, UK and London, more like “Tweet-Ups”.  I’ll let my readers know about that, just in case any of you can come.

A book signing in Rome, at the American Embassy is in the works, but not yet set in stone – waiting to hear back on that.

In addition, Social Media Analytics is “Book of the Month” for the Social Media Club and a webinar is planned for 9/20 at 2PM; I will have a page on this shortly, but one is not up yet.

Also, on 9/22 I will be doing a Podcast/Radio Show connected with AllAnalytics.com, more details coming soon.

Almost, finally, I’m the featured guest on the 9/8/2011 #SMMEASURE chat for Social Media Community Managers – the chat takes place at 9PM EST; I will have more details on this event, shortly.

Finally, I’m hosting two round tables focusing on Mobile Social Measurement, Monitoring & Analytics at the BDI – Social Mobile Roundtable on 9/21  – I had posted about this event a few months ago, but as the date is now much closer, time to remind readers that an excellent line up is expected for this BDI event, and I’m very much looking forward to it.

There may be a few other events I’ll be speaking at /attending during September, and when the dust settles, I let my readers know about these, once the details are finalized.
