Using WordStream Search Tools for Social Media

Was thinking about how current search tools might be used in Social Media; till recently there were few, if any, keyword tools for  Social Media.

Recently Wordstream released a free keyword niche finder that could be bootstrapped to help a social media campaign.

The Niche tool showes niche phrases that may do well in search engines (if that still is an option, since personalized search, even when a searcher is not logged into Google,  came into play recently) and even better if that same phase were somehow amplified in social media (ie: used in tweets, seeded in message boards, etc).

I haven’t chosen my own words in this fashion, it’s possible better results for search ranking might occur, if I did.  Take “sm2 social media monitoring tool” with 5123 results in Google (that I could, without too much effort, rank in the top 5 results for – maybe even in personalized results) vs “social media monitoring tool” with over 9 million results.

Keyword Grouper is yet another tool Wordstream released recently that might help Social Media

I put a long list of keywords generated by Google into this online form and got a number of categories I never would have thought of, one my own (see above).

I won’t say either tool is a complete  solution to  working keyword tools for social media – but it’s a start.
