I went to the Roger Smith Hotel tonight for Whuffaoke or Bust! **New York City** which is best described as:
” ….. a karaoke-infused roadtrip across America, starting in San Francisco, California, and ending in Montreal, Quebec. The goal is to bring music, whuffie and conversation on how to change the world along with us. We are Tara Hunt, Tony Bacigalupo, Emma Persky, Alex Hillman, Karen Hartline and Ridley the Pug.” Website: http://www.whuffaoke.com
The Whuffaoke tour is making it’s way cross country – here’s an account of last Wednesday’s Whuffaoke tour visit to Pittsburgh.
I was hoping to continue my conversation with Brian Simpson (from last night’s event at #Hyatt4Good Tweetup Tour – New York City where Brian and I spoke at Social Media and the Roger Smith Hotel, budget, best practices and success metrics. I’m thinking an article at Entrepreneur.com on Social Media success metrics for small businesses, using Roger Smith Hotel, might be a good article to write.
However, as you can see from the video, below, the atmosphere tonight, was much more playful and expressive – and outdoors.
I didn’t sing, and planned to leave earlier, but the songs were so good – I stayed to just to listen to them – and the crowd, a mixture of friends of mine and total strangers, many passing by on the street – gave me the thought that Whuffaoke, in a novel way, dissolved barriers between groups.
Except for the one time I spoke to Tara Hunt, at the opening of New Work City, I’ve totally missed talking to her – and I did want to, about her new book, which I haven’t yet read, but plan to.
