Social Media Jungle – morning sessions

I was at Social Media Jungle yesterday – here’s the presentation we put together (Leticia Colon and I) on Levering Social Connections – at the end of the day I had dinner with a few friends and called it a night – it was fun day, but exhausting too.

I’m sitting next to Leticia Colon, who co-presented with me at Social Media Jungle

@jer979 speaking about social media marketing, national carrot day, adventures of Johnny Bunko, now utilizing social contacts using passionate fans and set fire to that (Bunko breakfasts), aka Dan Pink.

Note: my own thoughts turn away from the speaker right now and link his idea of finding fans, but not being present or even know and participate in the meetings, as similar to real estate scams, getting work for no work (like residual income).

Next is Ben Grossman who is 20, asking questions about privacy and the making money from social media as well as measure it. Ben has a lot of good points, though the platforms to enable Customer Tracking (ROCi) haven’t yet been developed or linked to standard forms of measurements or web Analytics or in house CRM Metrics
and data.

Business Risks from Social Media Professor Johnathan (helpareporter.com) and reached 70,000 people, they pull out that Twitter story from Kethum about not liking the twitter message (the trick is to remember your identity and role connected to the context your in and acting as).

Privacy policy – a lie, your hosting provider is a third party, ETC. A privacy policy needs to be custom written for each business, don’t copy someone else’s or a template.

Social Media – nyvideo.org startups for web video, TechAviv group. In this room there are many ideas, the gap between an idea and a company- we’ll build a by the audience. Contactmind.com (similar idea to what the audience came up with).

Job Board that sits on top of Facebook, MySpace, ETC, people came up with ideas of about searching to and posting real time jobs.

Searching using hash tags and using social media, but what is a “real time” job?

Best Buy Remix Api, find a way to monitor and use Twitter to … Jobscore, tells you how you score for a job. I also brought up that textual search is not always able to find the right applicants.

After a break, I missed a few sessions. Interestingly, many people who covered #swsw weren’t there, like Bill Commack, sitting next to me, taking video as he’s ok Twitter, writing a post and talking to me, and, oh yes, listening to Howard Greenstein (sorry if I miss spelled his name) and Dean Landsman.

The rest of the day went really well and I spoke together with my friend and co-presenter Leticia Colon on Leveraging Social Connections in the Political, Professional and Personal sphere, the talk was well received.
