I don’t think of myself as dynamic in what I put out as Gary Vaynerchuk in Stop crying, think, wipe your tear and crush it! and, certainly, a lot, lot more things go right than go wrong, but I had to stop for a moment, after reading Gary’s post and viewing his video, to define what “pumping it out” means to me.
For one thing, I’m very, very tired – I just had a long dinner with friends tonight, the Mortensen family, and when I finally go home after midnight, I responed to a friend’s message about losing a job, and trying to help (I like to pay forward – and help all my friends as best I can).
Anyway, like Gary, I had not written a post or two at Webmetricsguru.com today, and I try to post every day, atleast once, but lately it’s been much harder. Well, this is my second post tonight, and I’m ready to just about collapse, but I did it, and I had quality content to share.
Plus, today I was at the Social Media Breakfast with Jeff Pulver at Friend of a Farmer Breakfast with Jeff Pulver (and friends) in NYC and I was “pumping it out” by getting out early, being somewhere to meet people when I could have spent more time before waking up. I needed to speak with Jeff Pulver about SolCOMM (which I’m attending) and Social Media Jungle in late March. Yeah, I pumped it out, alright.
So, in looking at Gary Vaynerchuk’s wise message about pumping it out in this tough economy where there’s still a lot of opportunity – it’s important to define what that means to you.
I know, for me, it means, among other things, blogging and painting (seeUpdated Work and Facebook Application – Send Marshall Sponder’s paintings – bearing in mind all the work in the post was done over the last month), along with helping my friends, whenever I can.

Now I can go to bed, hopefully with a lighter heart, than otherwise.
