Execute on being "me". Wow-

I was think that lately, I have been making some political posts, a friend of mine remarked about that the other night at dinner; that referred to a post titled A Dangerous Thing where I remarked there was no seporation between “church” and “state”.

Got several comments back including two or three that told me I was a Web Analyst, and had no place making political statements.   Obviously, I don’t agree, and infact, think that Web Analytics is about viewing and labeling data – making a decision about what your “seeing” and what it means.

But I think the best response to these comments is something that Gary Vaynerchuk wrote today about Execute on Being you.

There really is no reason why we, any of us, should be “put in our place” and defined by anyone else – I think he’s said that better than I could.  Fact of the matter – being defined by others, and being defined by yourself, the story you tell yourself about what is going on in your life – happens all the time, and can’t entirely be avoided.

But, at least, Gary Vaynerchuk frames the argument that we should be the one’s to define ourselves – and the most successful people, I think, generally do that.
