I had a good laugh over the CyberNet's "Hacker Safe" Sites are Really Hacker Friendly
as I know Nigel Ravenhill at HackerSafe ScanAlert and had actually been over to their corporate offices in Napa Valley briefly, a few months ago. In fact, Nigel gave me a bottle of HackerSafe wine - which I heartily drank down.
But I have to say that Nigel never told me that HackerSafe ScanAlert was a guarantee that your site would not be hacked, only that there's regular testing and validation. Fact of the matter, there's not full proof way to avoid having a site hacked except to not have a functional site - and that's not an option most of the times.

Anyway, I need the cheering up since my traffic is so far down from normal due to a Google Penalty applied to Know More Media's network - it's sorta taken the wind out of me - because I really enjoy the traffic I get on Webmetricsguru.com - and somehow, due to something that was done in the Know More Media Blog network - all the blogs, including mine have been affected - in my case - my site, for now, is not in Google at all - cutting back almost 75% of the traffic I got.
And the weird thing - I often wear Google shirts that I get for free at Emetrics Summits - it's not so much that I support Google - I don't - I just happen to like the shirts and they provoke conversations that would not have happened otherwise.
But now, I am beginning to feel uncomfortable wearing my Google shirts - simply because Google doesn't seem to want to have a conversation with any one - they just want to drive traffic to you when it's convenient for them, and then take it away - without ever telling you why - directly - to your face.
But I digress - getting back to HackerSafe ScanAlert - I think they overall, do add a sense of security to a site - it's a sign that sites take security seriously enough to take measures - but having HackerSafe Logo on your site doesn't mean you can assume the site won't be Hacked.
