Should Web Analysts be Rock Stars? Robbin Steif

In Should Web Analysts be Rock Stars? Robbin Steif expresses her opinion that I've had too, at times, - that Rock Stardom, which has now ossified the Search Marketing World and made Search Engine Strategies and Webmasterworld shadows of what they once were - now is entering into the Web Analytics Space.

Robbin's fresh breath of air is significant in two respects -

1 - Her opinion is being expressed in a new forum - nope, not the Web Analytics Yahoo Group, not in her Lunametrics.com blog but…

2 - The WAABlog has launched and will be announced shortly (on November 14th) in a press release that will soon be released by the Web Analytics Association.

It's been my pleasure to work with Robbin Steif and the Marketing Committee of the Web Analytics Association to make the WAABlog a reality.

In a way, the WAABlog was much easier to create than the WAA Social Network - the Social Media Committee of the Web Analytics Association that I direct - is actively working on this - but at the end of the day, it may well be that most people will remember the WAABlog first and the WAA Social Network, second.

What are the rules for posting to the WAABlog?

Well, anyone who is a member of the WAA can post to it, but it's not meant as a promotional device - it's for sharing ideas, just like Robbin Steif did in Should Web Analysts be Rock Stars? and the answer is …. no, we're not in the Rock Star business.

Robbin Steif has brought a fresh breath of air with her recent post on Should Web Analysts be Rock Stars? where she thinks that no one should be a Web Analytics Rock Star - or maybe we all should be…
