In EXCLUSIVE Microsoft Gatineau presentation and screen shots! Eric T. Peterson shows the first, exclusive photo op of Gatineau, along with a deck that outlines the thinking and approach of the team that took DeepMetrix and transformed it into Gatineau.

Having worked with LiveStats.NET and LiveStats.XST alot for my house plans clients, I recognise the parts of LiveStats that remained and the much of the new features are coming from merging AdCenter's geodemographic data with Gatineau's new, improved interface.

But will it be enough to get Gatineau a large adoption?  Probably not.  But it doesnt have to be …..as long as it works for Microsoft adCenter's advertisers as a platform to go with the advertising - it's probably good enough for now.

Besides, as I said yesterday, the more information you present in a web analytics platform/tool, the more questions your going to end up having.  Unfortunately, Gatineau will not be able to answer the second or third set of questions, which is why people buy Omniture or one of the other high end tools.  Gatineau will be as good, in it's own way, as Google Analytics is - but not having the market share, won't move much beyond Microsoft Advertisers.

Still, it's an advance for a entry level web analytics platform, and you can see the bar keeps on getting higher and higher - which means everyone needs to constantly improve or be left behind.
