Ladies Who Launch booksigning at Barnes & Noble

I stumbled upon a book signing event of Ladies Who Launch: Embracing Entrepreneurship & Creativity as a Lifestyle (Hardcover) with Victoria Colligan and Beth Schoenfeldt (the other author, Amy Swiftat, was not present) at a Barnes and Noble in Chelsea tonight and ran into a couple of friends including Nichelle, Ellen Silverman and a few others I've met recently.

I was not expecting to sit though the whole book signing but found it pretty interesting and full of woman who all seemed to be happy to be at the signing.

Ladies Who Launch is an entrepreneur network for Woman to help get their businesses off the ground; it offers a 4 week Incubator Intensive Workshop (woman only) to teach woman how to come up with ideas and launch a business.

Some of the ideas that stood out to me:

    • Ladies Who Launch offers a support network and peer review that is highly supportive of it's members.
    • Entrepreneurship / Work - should be fun and rewarding.
    • If doors keep on closing in your face, it's a sign.  Instead of taking the "easy way" out, take the "harder way" which leads to more (my words).

I wish there was something like Ladies who Launch for men.  Hay…maybe there could be something like that for Web Analytics?  But then…I'm not sure how that would work.

It was fun running into old and new friends, and certainly not planned…it just "happened".
