Ask City improves Local Search

Heard about Ask City from Search Engine Land earlier today and I just had a chance to try it and it's pretty cool!

"….The Ask.com Blog announced a neat new feature that enables you to literally shape your own local search results. You can go to Ask City, locate a location, draw a circle or square in a certain location and then search specifically within that location. Below is a screen cast I put up to explain it a bit better."

I looked for local pet stores:

Being able to draw the area you want to search in could help make searching more fun and perhaps, more useful because user opinions are also available for many of the search results.

In this case, I looked for Art Galleries in Chelsea - Ask City gave me mostly Art Stores but with the addition of user reviews (when available), and being an artist myself, I'd probably use Ask City since I can also draw all over the map (which I assume, will be saved in an online account).
