I saw the news yesterday, Avinash Kaushik is teaching a ClickTracks class (we're all invited) - I need the class - I'm having trouble with ClickTracks.
Actually, ClickTracks was designed for a totally right brained person, which I am; but, I've become so used to typical Web Analytics programs - I'm finding ClickTracks harder to get used to than I thought it would be.
The problem - ClickTracks is actually "too visual" for me - yes, it tries to draw everything out - even things that I could live without and the Heatmaps are hard to look at - esp if you have a lot of Labels.
Avinash Kaushik is the right person to give a ClickTracks training because they use it at Intuit, but only for the front end - the backend has an extensive data warehouse that's not actually part of ClickTracks - at least - that much I've gotten from my correspondence with Avinash and the online video I've of Avinash Kaushik at the GooglePlex last fall.
I will try to attend, as I said - I need this course. But if Avanish is doing it - it'll be good.
But… I do have to question one thing. Whose idea was it to ask ClickTracks for more features in the free version? According to Pat McCarthy at Conversionrater:
"….There’s also an interesting story behind the class where Avinash asked for more free features in ClickTracks Appetizer product, and they’re going to use web analytics to test the results and decide if they keep the additional features. In the process, they asked Avinash to teach a class. "
Hmm….. I think I'll have some fun with this story… make up a couple of lines
Ok, I'll make at least one of the two sessions - and I hope a lot of other people come too.
I had made up a conversation but decided to take it out - I'd like to have some fun with the ClickTracks Appetizer story - maybe try my scriptwriting skills out -another time.
