I'll try to go see Cory Doctorow at NYU Friday evening, but even if I don't make it, I heard him today at the Google Unbound conference. Also, Seth Godin wrote about watching Corey handle his email at the conference, as Seth was sitting right near Cory.
Here's the description (not much info)
12:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm
Cory Doctorow, Author; Co-Editor, Boing Boing; Fulbright Chair, USC
And here's what I wrote:
"…He used to be a book seller and noted the time he sold a Piers Antony novel to client..he said to himself …who are I to tell a customer what they should like, should read?
There's so much information competing what are only one click away and I'm not going to have a chance to look at …that making something g two clicks away is in exercise is unfitness.
Social activity connected with an artist's work are essential.
Making content that you can make money with. Why are more ebooks not stolen?
OK, it's not much information. Cory talks fast and he's very funny - he has a lot to say and he's quick about it. Maybe I'll have more to write if I go to his NYU talk Friday evening.
