I was blog tagged by Jonathan Mendez a couple of weeks ago in this game of Blog Tag (and since have been tagged by Gary Angel and someone else) so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do this 2 more times with 5 more facts about myself each time (that people don't know about me).
Anyway, yesterday I was having a Google Talk Chat with Marcus Van Soest, an artist friend located in The Hague, and he mentioned he got a Google Alert about my blog tag. I mentioned to Marcus that it would be nice to have a map of all of this and he's looking into that. Meanwhile, B.L. Ochman was tagged and in her post she mentions a Blog Tree created by SoloSeo that tracks all the tagged individuals in this game and those who took the challenge and wrote up 5 things about themselves. Naturally, I looked for my name and found it about two thirds down the Blog Tree.
And Later on, I found some of the other people I tagged.
- Timothy Seward
- Jason Van Orden
- Mike Moran
- Mike Grehan
- Alex Bosworth
- Danny Sullivan (go)
- Derek Smart
- Linda Moran
- Liz Camps
Not everyone responded yet (including Liz Camps of Green Media Inc)- and I'm not sure what "go" means and how someone formally "ends" - but it's interesting to see who's on the list.
What I'd like to see is a map and when I used the TouchGraph Google Browser it crashed IE7, so I won't be doing that again.
Any ideas on how to map all of this (and get the entire tree)? I'm open to suggestions as I'm curious to see what the picture of interlinking looks like.
Kartoo kinda does some of what I want (if I search on a specific string that most blog posts include - that it all started from Jeff Pulver (boy, must he be getting a link blast out of this idea!).
But I have to keep looking at successive maps and I've never been a fan of Kartoo.com, simply because the interface is not really that helpful for most of the tasks I'd use a search engine for (with all the Flash built in - and it never got much of a readership).
Certainly, Marcus Van Soest at www.Powerpainter.org probably has the tools to do what I'm suggesting, and I hope he does.
