I wish I could say the 100,000th visitor to Webmetricsguru.com was someone I knew, or at least someone that lives in the United States.
I stood in Rockefeller Center tonight - looking at the Christmas Ornaments - and at the Museum of Modern Art bookstore - I arrived too late to see anything inside - being at a Art Meetup Lunch earlier in the afternoon.
OK, so here's the detail of the 100,000th visitor to Webmetricsguru.com - all of this traffic happened this year - starting Feb 9th, 2006 - when I did my first post here.

>So the 100,000th visitor was in Poland and came from the part called Bielsko which is near Vienna, according to the information on this page. I asked my wife, who is Polish, how I could contact this person and she told me to put up the picture I'd like to offer them if I can figure out who they are.

There! Because this is my Web Metrics blog I wanted to give the 100,000th visitor a painting of mine in some way that's connected to Web Metrics …and this one I did the day before going to Washington DC last October - to a really FANTASTIC conference.
It's also interesting that the 100,000th visitor to Webmetricsguru.com was a referral from Micro Persuasion - thanks Steve Rubel, a PR Guru working for Edelman these days; you must have written something about Google Video that my Polish friend found interesting.
So, if Webmetricsguru.com got 100,000 visits (not visitors) in the last 10 months, or so, how many Uniques actually read Webmetricsguru.com?
There's now more than 300 subscribers via RSS Feeds and if each subscriber looked at my blog a couple times a week (lets say 4 times - creating 4 visits each ) and we averaged 250 subscribers thoughout the year …then we could say that 4200 visits per month were inspired by RSS subscribers - but we'll never know the exact truth since many people read my blog via Bloglines or Google Reader - and they don't show up as visits to Webmetricsguru.com.
I looked at several blogs using Quantcast.com, which does attempt to show you visits vs regular visitors and I think it's fair to say that anywhere from 13% to 22% is going to be return visitors for a blog - meaning I probably had about 75,000 to 80,000 Uniques over the last 10 months grace Webmetricsguru.com!
So….two thoughts. One, if your a Polish person who is living in Bielsko and came to my blog on December 2nd, your probably the person I want to give the artwork in this blog post to - write to me at now.seo@gmail.com and make the subject of the email - I'm the 100,000th visit.
Ok, the other thought - maybe someone, an analytics company would be ideal, step up and sponser this blog.
I know KMM is looking for someone to sponser each blog - and this blog is a pretty good one to sponser. I hope someone with the forsight (ie: Visual Sciences would be a perfect sponsor, so would any number of PR or Web Analytics companies). And yes, I do get some of that money - but not that much….I just want Know More Media to prosper and for my blog, Webmetricsguru.com, to prosper.
I even promise not to write anything all that critical about the sponsor …. not an easy thing for me to do since I tend to be pretty critical in my evaluations of new products and platforms - but as non-partial as I can be.
