I did not believe it when I read it in Seth Godin’s blog - Yahoo Mail and MySpace together account for more than half of all online display ads. - is that really true? I get MarketingVox so I took a look for myself.
Q1 Online Ad Spend Up 46%, MySpace Gets 17% of June Ads
MySpace accounted for 17.0 percent of online display impressions in June, up from May’s 14.6 percent, but Yahoo Mail retained its lead with 35.7 percent of impressions, and MSN Hotmail was third with 7.2 percent, writes MediaPost, citing Nielsen/NetRatings AdRelevance figures.
So MySpace, Yahoo Mail and MSN Hotmail take up 60% of all online advertising impressions according to Nielsen/NetRatings.
There’s also an interesting chart that goes Nielsen provides showing Internet Advertising is grown (spend increased) by almost 50% from a year ago - at least, that is what the chart is saying to me.

OK, if advertising spend on Online Internet Advertising increased by almost 50% from last year and a couple of sites take up 60% of all the Online Advertising Impression that means those sites’ revenue will continue to flow in and it’s almost frighening to think of what the MarketingVox is going to report about Online Advertising a year or two from now .
