Producing Emotion Maps of a location

SmartSpace reports on Christian Nold, a London-based artist who is combining a GPS receiver with a Galvanic Skin Response sensor to get a picture of the emotional map of a location. The results–which he calls Biomapping– are stunning.

The source of the story came from The Observer which added:

"emotion mapping….. enables people to compare their moods with their surroundings more precisely than ever before. It measures not just major reactions that tend to stick in the memory, but also the degrees of stimulation caused by speaking to a stranger, crossing the road or listening to birdsong.

Howard Rheingold of Smartmobs (where I also post) noted that "GSR is one of the measures used in the polygraph ("lie detector") and is the basis of Scientology’s "e-meter".

I see this technology being used to measure engagement of visitors to a website - to measure response - sorta of an ajunct to EyeTracking.
