The Art of the RSS Feed and Podcasts - Part 2

Beginner Podcast packages  Darron Babin - CEO of NewGen Broadcasting.  Grab your podcasting equipment - score a podcast.  Be prepared for bandwidth consumption - big factor to take into consideration.

On a normal hosting account - Darron was paying 500 per month - and then he got a phone call from his hosting provider - he pushed a terrabyte of bandwidth a month - quickly made some decisions about content distribution networks because you need something like this.  You get a great Podcast and when you give it to CDN it shoves it out on an EDGE network it gives your audience to get the podcast in a couple of minutes instead of downloading it from your own servers.

If you can create compelling content it’s also going to cost you a lot of money in bandwidth.  Make sure that when your create the podcast be aware of the quality of it - including technical bugs.

Webmasterradio launched in 2004 and everyone has heard from the SEO Roadshow; you need to consider the titles of your show (your content) plus the titles of your episodes - giving as much weight into the descriptor, give everything you got to the descriptor.  The more information the better.  I would also encourage your to think about your ID3 Tag (a Tag that goes on the Media file itself   ID3V2 editors allows you to do this by importing the file to it and put all kinds of comments and wraps it around the file).  It’s important because people are building search engines to read files and understand what the files are about and already engines are employing speech speech to text technology and the new search engines are reading the ID3 tags, etc.

RSS Feeds are extremely important - optimize everything - ITunes is like Lycos in 1999 - it’s there for the taking.
