I just gave up my Sidekick II for a Tmobile MDA (with mixed reviews on my part). However, in a couple of months (or less) the new SideKick III is coming out, so I might switch back and get the SideKick III when that happens.
Here’s what the new SideKick III is going to look like:
I noticed the SideKick III has all the features of the Tmobile MDA - but I bet they are bundled much better that the Tmobile MDA. My experience has been mixed with the MDA. I like some of the features but the phone has been vexing to use. Worse yet, when I use the WiFi part of the device, it appears to turn off the phone, and when I leave the hotspot, the phone part often does not turn back on all the time - some times I’ve had to shut it off and power it back on a couple of times.
I’m sure it’s mainly operator error on my part - but I find the TMobile MDA kinda hard to operate, and very easy to drop (yet they don’t sell a strap for it…that’s not smart). Anyway, I’ll most certainly switch back to the SideKick III when it comes out - at least, that’s how I feal today.
Here’s what Endadget had to say about the SideKick III
As soon as a Sharp-made handset shows up on the FCC with a whole bunch of confidentiality-request paperwork affixed, you know it’s gonna be good. Sidekick fans, feast your eyes on the real deal up in the grill (yep, all those pics were legit), and the um, naked, battery-less tail end of the Sidekick III (model PV200). Can’t be long now, can it? And yes, this confirms pretty much much of the info we’d already heard about the forthcoming device: 1.3 megapixel camera, expandable memory (miniSD), and Bluetooth.
