Google SketchUp Just Released

Posted by Marshall on April 27, 2006 | Link It

Last month I wrote about Google buying Sketchup; today they released their free version of Sketchup to the public.

Google’s goal with SketchUp was to create a version of the 3D tool available to everyone, for free! There is still a high end version available for architects and builders, but now even amateurs can start ripping out 3D models for Google Earth.

There is a 3d Warehouse where users can share the items they have created with the tool - whether it be a deck, garden, kitchen renovation, or giant mansion.

That’s interesting….so you can share the objects you create with others….hmm, I wonder how that can be used.   I’ll have to download Sketchup and take a look at the program.
