I like CustomerCrossroads posting on Co-Creation.
Co-Creation in Action
Here’s a good example of what I’m talking about. The Lance Armstrong Foundation has created a donation site where you can upload a photo of someone who has battled cancer into a mosaic. You can be part of the creation of something special that a lot of people will see. It’s much more personal and more connected than simply sending a cheque in. As the copy on the site says, "we want you to be part of it". [Thanks to Jennifer Rice for bringing this to my attention]
Interesting post - I’ve been using the Co-Creation idea for many years (but it was personal … like a person co-creates with nature when you paint something (two of mine are shown) - write something, design something - part of the role is active and the other part is listening back to nature).
When we take the to the people sphere - where people contribute and then listen back to what has been contributed - I think that’s what is happening now and the web makes it possible to do it in real time.
