SortPrice.com is attempting to eliminate click fraud by making it removing the incentive for fraud (Flat Level Pricing) according to Marketingshift and outlined in a Press Release that came out today. According to the Press Release ….
Comparison shopping search engine Sortprice.com has announced a unique method of restricting click fraud. Sortprice.com is the first shopping search engine to provide internet retailers with free basic product listings and flat rates per month for enhanced programs. With the growing problem of click-fraud, online merchants can feel secure that their products will be not only well-represented but also advertised in a safe environment.
Softprice.com is located in Lower Manhattan, at 44 Wall Street; come to think of it, I think I may have talked to some of the people from Softprice a couple of weeks ago at an SESNY06 party. If i’m right (I’ll have to go back and look at my business cards) they talked about some unique technology they were using on the backend to provided targeted results (everyone is doing something "advanced" these days - you can’t be "in" unless your doing the "advanced" stuff.).
It’s a interesting concept - eliminating click fraud by natural means - rather than going after the "click fraud" itself.
In fact, I was looking at one of my client’s site last night for Click Fraud using KeywordMax’s Click Auditor module and did not find that much click fraud at all - maybe a couple of clicks a day (no more that 10-12 clicks a day). My criteria is same IP Address, sake keywords, Same PPC engine and close time to click (within a couple of minutes of each other).
So while there is Click Fraud - i’m not sure if it’s as big a deal for eveyone as it’s made out to be in the media lately.
