Reading Groundswell by Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff

I have a copy of Groundswell that I got from Charlene Li on Monday night when I met her at the Blogger Meetup in NYC and I've really been enjoying reading it - got done with two chapters and will write up a complete review when I'm done in the next week or so.

I wasn't planning on reading it right away - but on my way home Monday night I started reading the book and decided to put the other books I'm reviewing aside and focus on her because it's really interesting - and there's a lot of damn good information in it - stuff I'd have a hard time finding out on my own and haven't seen anywhere else, and it's presented in easy to read format.

Noticed that B.L. Ochman just reviewed Groundsswell in post at WhatsNextBlog -Groundswell– Buy it, Read It, Share It!

B.L. Ochman knows a lot about Social Media - and this is what she had to say about Groundswell - and I saw her at the Blogger Meetup on Monday night - was fun catching up with her.  Anyway - here's what B.L. Ochman wrote about the Groundswell book today:

"…If you read this blog with any regularity, you know I don't gush. Rant yes, gush no. But I'm gushing about Groundswell.

Order it now, today.

Get out your magic marker and your sticky notes, and go sit in a corner and read this book. It’s not only the most lucid explanation of how social media has changed the world; it’s a fun read. Buy a copy for all of your clients. Go ahead, get your credit card. You need this book! Read the blog, use the tools on the Groundswell site. Before, I was sad, Now, me so happy!"

By the way, I'll be at Virtual Worlds 2008 Conference Thursday and Friday this week and if you want to follow my Tweets about the conference - just subscribe to my Twitter Feed at http://twitter.com/webmetricsguru

I'll also be at Blogger Social 08 starting Friday Evening and be Tweeting up a storm, along with my blog posting - but wait …. I may be so busy at Blogger Social … maybe I won't have time to post much or anything this weekend.  But if I can't post ….I can Tweet a lot.

Been so busy lately that it's been hectic - posting a little less than usual but plan to be posting a lot in the next day or two about Virtual World stuff - as that's the community I'll be surrounding myself with till Friday Evening …and then it's the Bloggers.

And now I'll collapse because it's been a long, long day and there's even longer days coming up.
