About 10 days ago I was at Digital Wednesdays at Corio and it was written up in Adotas (see What’s the Big Idea? Find Out Next Wednesday).
One of the woman I was speaking to worked for Adotas, which explains how the gathering got written up:
"...DW boasts 3,000 members but on a typical (at least a typical chilly) evening, expect anywhere from 10 and 100 people. The vibe is friendly and laid-back and the setting is all lush velvet settees, votive candles and sexy (if that’s possible) wallpaper and décor. (Corio also hosts Burlesque evenings, ooh la la).
A gaggle of Eyeblaster employees piled into Corio last night, including manager of business development Georgiana Mirea. Also in attendance: business development strategist Michael Demby and blogger and analyst Marshall Sponder among many other smiling faces enjoying the company, the creative cocktails, delicious wines and beer."
And what happened the Burlesque? I don't think it was happening that Wednesday - but the conversation was engaging which was all I needed.
I attend a lot of these types of meetings - sometimes a couple a week - New York is full of it - whereas it would be much harder to get this level of activity to happen, even in Paris (I know, because I tried it last December when I attended LeWeb3). The rest of France, forget it.
Anyway, I will try to make Digital Wednesdays more often, as I mentioned at The Analytics Guru.
