You know Web Analytics is up and coming when it's featured in entertainment - like what happened in Apprentice Series 2 when an Search Engine Marketing person was one of the contestants. Well, now, according to Web Analytics in the movies in Lies, Damn Lies, Web Analytics is now being elevated to a main part of the plot of a major movie:
"...Sony Pictures is about to take the industry mainstream (kinda) with the release of Untraceable, a movie about a serial killer who uses real-time traffic data from site visitors to decide how quickly to kill people. I always knew it was a dark art...
Hmm... I have to ask Rachel Scotto of Sony Pictures, herself a Web Analyst Manager, who's in Social Media Committee I oversee, what she knows about this movie.
According to Ian at Lies, Damm Lies:
"... was filmed in - none other that Portland, Oregon, home of Webtrends, and, of course, the one and only Eric Peterson. Anything you want to tell us, Eric? ;-)"
That's funny! I wonder what platform they're going to use (WebTrends, Visual Sciences, Omniture, HBX). I doubt they'd feature Google Analytics - not sexy or esoteric enough ...but you never know.

why not VisitorVille ( http://www.visitorville.com/ )?
He could decide who kill simply by choosing a nasty avatar :-P
