Just read about RescueTime, Attention Monitoring Tool in Google Operating System tonight and I like the concept of what it does:
"...What would you get by combining Google Web History with Google Analytics? An application that shows where do you spend most of your time on the web using beautiful charts.
RescueTime takes this idea, but also tracks the usage of desktop applications. "RescueTime is a web-based time management and analytics tool for information workers who want to be more productive. [It] doesn't record what apps or sites you have open, but rather what app or site you are paying attention to!"
My take - it's interesting to look at what someone, your typical audience member pays attention to, but it would be more interesting to know what a set of visitors pay attention to. I can almost imagine an application you download, as a research project (sorta) from a sit that breaks down what the audience of a site pays attention to).
I like the idea of RescureTime more than the actual application, at this point - but it sounds like there's more improvements being worked on for this product.

Our start-up, www.hooeey.com may interest you as it a web-app that records, retrieves and analyzes your web-hops. And one of the things that it analyzes is exactly what you have written about--where you spend most of your time on the web.
