What is the user interface going to be like in 2020? In order to know that, we need to know the hardware that is going to exist in 2020, according to Shahram Inzadi.

Comparing the interfaces we had 20 years ago with what we have now shows many similarities, even though the our experience with the user interface is much more sophisticated now as then.  Having said that, while the hardware has become slicker and cheaper to manufacture - we still have the mouse, keyboard and vertical display.

Why should it change?  Well, the desktop computer has reached it's maximum, but we're living in exciting times with the iPhone, Wii and the Microsoft Surface (which I have not heard of before).

Microsoft Surface, is like a light table, you interact using your fingers - sorta similar to a large iPhone/iPod Touch.  Microsoft believes there is opportunities for a new human interface to evolve and become commodity items in your home.

Microsoft Thin site is another device is akin to a projector TV - Thin form factor and optical sensing (uses interred proximity sensors)
