Social Media Breakfast - Manhattan

I missed the Social Media Breakfast that happened two days ago in Manhattan, but it was covered by B.L. Ochman and sponsored partly by Converseon, a firm who I've worked with for over three years AND whom Constantin Basturea, who I've met a few times at Converseon, is also part of my Social Media Committee at the Web Analytics Assocation.

I guess LeWeb3 put me in Paris, which was great, but there were a few events going on in NYC, like this one, that I wished to attend and hope to attend in the future.

I'm glad the focus was on Second Life - where the best is yet to come (ie: Virtual World Advertising - AdSoft from Code4Software.com is one example of an app whose time has come).  Here's B.L's synopsis of the highlights of the events:

"….Don't ignore Second Life," he said. "Don't write it off. There is a tremendous untapped market, he said, that can be reached with savvy marketing.

While there's been a lot of SL bashing lately, and 9 out of 10 accounts are inactive; the metaverse has, he says, approximately 1.2 million active members (who log in at least once a month) who are a very passionate and engaged group of early adopters.
SL isn’t perfect, but the category is here to stay.
