Google is definitely improving Google Analytics, no question of that - especially with the new enhancements to make it easier to track ecommerce transactions and see how metrics relate to each other, according to GrokDotCom, but not visitor events, yet.
"...Since it's designed to help you measure the relationships between actions and content, the to-be-launched Event Tracking interface should encourage GA users to do a better job of planing the visitor experience and to not be content with the same old generic data."
I thought I'd take a look at the a few examples of the new enhancements on my own blog, webmetricsguru.com.
I can now look at the bounce rate of any keyword to my site over time, which I find might be useful.
Return visitors are clearly more "engaged" with my content than new visitors - which makes sense to me.
There's a lot more there, like event tracking, which is not enabled yet, but I like what I'm seeing in this release/update of Google Analytics.
Which reminds me, this is a good excuse for me to post one of my recent paintings that reminds me of these charts, in a way.![]()

I like your painting. I'd love to have it as a desktop background if you had it in higher res.
