A couple of months ago I used Gizmoz's Talking head tool to create an animated Avatar of myself talking - for free and with no limitations in use.
Now, OddCast has come up with it's own Avatar Creation tool but it costs 199 Dollars to use it.
The OddCast Avatars look more smooth - professional, in fact. Perhaps it's worth it for businesses to use OddCast if they care about finish (but the result might be somewhat predictable and boring).
Btw, I'm not too happy with how my head came out.
Granted, while these are two avatar creation programs - they may be used for different purposes or seen by different audiences.
Still, I must be missing something here - I don't see enough of a difference to want to spend 199 for something I could get, more or less, free somewhere else...but that's just me.
