Google Checkout has landed on the Google's Homepage. I saw it earlier this evening but did not post about it till I read Read/Write/Web do a writeup on Google Checkout and what this all means.
SearchEngineLand has the most comprehensive post on Google Checkout on Google's homepage. There seems to be a groundswell of opinions about the checkout icon appearing on Google's main search page - I suspect more people don't like it than do like it.
I think it's too early to say if this is a misstep by Google; in a couple of days, we'll get a better idea, one way or the other.
