GeoKeywords Generator

Have not bought any new SEO tools this year, though I have evaluated one or two keyword research tools  - usually I don't even look at the emails I get and don't find many of the paid tools much better than the free ones.

but I'm glad I did look at Armand Morin's GeoKeywords Generator

GeoKeywords Generator is pretty interesting because it does something no other keyword tool that I've seen do - (I hope Armand does not mind me sharing his movie of GeoKeywords Generator - maybe he kinda hopes it spreads virally).

Starting with a keyword phase such as "dry cleaner"

    1. GeoKeywords Generator can create a keyword list based on locations that have a certain population size (and there's a slider bar to manipulate the population size your creating a list for). The list you create can also be for major countries around the world - it's not just for the United States.
    2. GeoKeywords Generator can also create a keyword list for localities within a certain distance of any location in any US State [but you can't target by distance and size at the same time - a feature Armand Morin should add to the next version].

There are a couple of other featues GeoKeywords Generator does but I won't go over them here.

I think GeoKeywords Generator is worth  the money but I need to make an equally important point.  GeoKeywords Generator does not create GeoCentric content for your site(s) and just coming up with the keywords may not do much or anything for your search optimization unless you can get your pages to be dynamic and have enough Geocentric copy to avoid duplicate content filters most search engines now apply.

I'm also aware Armand likes to make tools that are easy to create, maintain and sell - that's the mold GeoKeywords Generator falls into - and that's ok - it's still worth the money.   However, I'm suggesting Morin go several steps further and make an add-on product to this one called GeoDemographic Keyword Generator; a bit more programming would be needed for GeoDemographic Keyword Generator - but it would be worth it.

GeoDemographic Keyword Generator would need to have the following features:

- Create a Keyword List based on a GeoDemographic Cluster Segment (use the same slider bar concept), start with Experian MOSAIC cluster segments as Microsoft AdCenter is using the same cluster segments for it's LifeStyle Keyword Chart in the keyword research tool (and MOSAIC has a small number of segments - maybe 12 or 13 - much easier to implement than PRIZM's ~ 70 segments).

- Create a Keyword List based on a set of user defined attributes (using slider bars and check lists).

- Create a Keyword List based on Cluster Segment AND distance from a location.

- Create a Keyword List based on Cluster Segment AND population size.

I haven't bought GeoKeywords Generator yet but I would not mind Demoing it and writing a full review here (if Armand will give me a working version to play with). GeoKeywords Generator has a place in any SEO Toolkit and I would buy it based on what I have seen - but that's just me; it does not solve the world's problems for you - but it's a nice tool to have.
