Blogs give economists fame

This story is an interesting read to me because I know it's true.

"….Weary after a long flight back from a family vacation, the economics professor was returning to his car at Baltimore/Washington International Airport. Suddenly, a man leaned across the bus aisle to shake Cowen's hand, pronouncing himself a "huge fan" - not of Cowen's economics work but of the Internet blog the George Mason University faculty member created three years ago. When I started writing Webmetricsguru.com early this year I had no idea would be read as much as it was - I posted a lot (and for a Web Analytics blog - that's not so easy).

When I went to the Emetrics Summit last October in DC - I was surprised at how many people came up to me and shook my hand - readers of my blog.  It blew me away.
