Blogging from space

This is a first - a blogger in Space.  It’s never happened before.  The news is covered by a fellow Smartmobs.com blogger, Roland Piquepaille, who I’ve never met but who contributes to SmartMobs.com, as I do.

" bet that many of you envy Anousheh Ansari, an American businesswoman born in Iran, who will become on September 18 the first female space tourist. As the previous male ones, Ansari had to pay about $20 million for 10 days in space. After a trip in a Soyuz spacecraft launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, she will spend some time inside the International Space Station (ISS). But what will she do on the ISS? She’ll become the first person to blog from space and tell us her thoughts from far above us."

Here’s the buzz created by Anousheh Ansari’s blogging in space:

You can see that people associate Anousheh Ansari with the first female space tourist - but until Roland Piquepaille wrote about the blogging part (which might be recent news) she was not associated with "space blogging".

Ha! Maybe I just coined a new term, "space blogging"!
