All this Buzz about Banksy got me curious on who is Banksy’s audience anyway? According to the free Quantcast tool is made up even more of males than the AdLabs Demo showed.
- 79% male, 21% female
- 35% 45-54 years of age while are 25% are 25-34 years of age, while only 10% are between 18-24 years of age (much different than the AdLabs tool which said the majority were 18-24 years of age).
- 64% of the audience has a kid between the age of 6 -17 years of age.
- 63% of the audience is making over 60,000 a year.
- 72% are Caucasian and 24% are Hispanic!
- 65% have at least a college degree.
- 72.5% of visitors are attracted to Banksy’s site by the buzz he creates while 27% check on him more regularly.
- Once visitors know about Banksy, visitors return 54% of the time while 40% of his traffic is made of up visitors who just came due to buzz and quickly leave. 7% of Banksy’s visitors are regularly addicted to his site and return over and over.
If we look at the traffic that Banksy generated due to his "pranks", it’s substantial.
There is a direct relationship of Banksy’s pranks and traffic to his site - so whatever he’s doing is effective, at least from the publicity standpoint.
And at this moment - Banksy has almost 5 million listings in Google -which means that his name appears in that many pages that Google indexed …and that’s a lot of pages for a person’s name to appear! But compared to Angelina Jolie, who has close to 34 million pages in Google’s index that has her name on it, Banksy is only 1/8th as famous as Angelina Jolie. But Banksy is a little less famous as Clay Aiken, which 6 million pages in Google that have this artist’s name on the page.
