My last post of the effect of being Being Slashboinged and Digged at the same time! while also being mentioned in Boing Boing inspires my last post for Sunday.
I have a case study in Amy Crehore’s "Monkey Love Series" and other recent work featured in Boing Boing. One of the things that I noticed from the VitalSecurity.org post was how much traffic came to his site from Boing Boing due not only to people clicking on a link from Boing Boing, but also from people copying the post and pasting it in their own blogs and having more people and more enduring traffic come that way.
Using Web Analtytics tools that are free, I’m going to show the Buzz those posts generated - and I don’t even need HitWise to do it. Normally, I’d write art stuff in my other blog - ArtNYC, but this is post about Buzz Traffic Trends - so I’ll leave on Webmetricsguru.com
There were 13 posts written that I could pull out of Google within the last 10 months - that’s amazing - one would expect a lot of brand lift from that much exposure.

First Tool - Blogpulse.com Pro: Free, can look at actual blog posts from charts, Con: only covers 6 months max.
For the 6 months I can measure, everytime a Boing Boing article by Mark Frauenfelder was posted, and it contained a name of a Amy Crehore series, that series was Brand Lifted and there was more visibility for Amy Crehore in the Blogsphere (although each spike only represented a couple of blog posts in the BlogPulse tool - there must have been more than what’s in BlogPluse’s database). Therefore, writeups in Boing Boing do generate Buzz, and I’m sure they generate traffic. How much Traffic?
Amy tells me she got:
"35,000 page views of page 5- reading a counter on my website"
Also, according to Alexaholic Amy got .1* 800,000 or 80,000 pageviews between June and July 05 (that might be a bit overstated). A pageview is not the same thing as visit - so while the numbers are not that accurate for Alexa/Alexaholic - it does show that all those posts in Boing Boing are producing an overall Brand Lift for Amy Crehore.
My last post for today - I’ll take my Web Analytics hat off and watch some TV.
