Taking a leaf from my last post of Holiday Traffic posting - I thought I'd try it myself (maybe a little late for it - since I should have posted about the 4th of July Fireworks on the 2nd or the 3rd).
I'll post the traffic results on this blog on July 6th (let's see if the ideas work).
OK, 4th of July Fireworks - it's in Yahoo Buzz - they looked at it and here's what Yahoo said:

The Fourth of July means fireworks, and Buzz is full of explosive searches. Queries on "fireworks safety," "fireworks for sale," and "fireworks shows" all blasted off.
Most big cities now offer enormous firework displays on the night of the Fourth, but which celebrations are making the loudest bang in Buzz? Detroit fireworks lead the way, followed by "chicago fireworks," "sf bay area fireworks," and "new york city fireworks."
Let's see what is showing up in the Blogosphere.

If I were going to do a promotion around my site - I'd use "firework shows" as one of the main keywords. Safety - well, that peaked before the fireworks and Fireworks for Sale, you need to buy those before the 4th of July to have them on the 4th - so I don't think you'd see much Buzz around the 4th for buying fireworks - and you don't see it after June 29th.
if anything - at least you can get the right keywords from this method.
What about the other keywords?

Yahoo Buzz is right on - there's so much more going on with Detroit Fireworks - even though New York has the biggest fireworks in the World today - the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show. Wierd... Why aren't people looking for the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show? Maybe they are and we just aren't looking at the right phases, and neither is Yahoo Buzz.
Using Microsoft AdLabs Beta tool on Macy's 4th of July Fireworks - you'd need to do Buzz monitoring on many of these keywords (and look at the search entries) to find the best phases to use in your website / blog. LIke we see "Spectacular" coming up 62 times - maybe that phase should be "Macy's Sectacular 4th of July fireworks display" or something like that. In order to find the True Buzz, you need to look at all the slang and alterative phrases people use, the same as you need to do it with Political Candidates and I posted about that just the other day in John Edwards - JRE Update Buzz from Gnomedex , John Edwards Buzz from Gnomedex and Smartmobbing the next US elections.

Now, using the right words, our Macy's 4th of July Fireworks spectacular" gets .00040% of all Blogosphere traffic as monitored by BlogPulse. Again, that's much smaller than the Detroit Fireworks - and I don't know why.
