True to being the Web Analyst that I am, I regularly look at my referral logs (in this case, SiteMeter - as KMM provides me with the free version). I want to add that I have been meaning to write a review of the new SideKick III and compare with the TMobile MDA that I bought a couple of months ago and just retired.
One of our soldiers in IRAQ wants to know about the SideKick III - how do I know? Here’s the referral log

Tmobile MDA
I bought my Sidekick III 10 days ago, just as I vowed to, to get rid of the MDA and I gave it away - but now that I have had the chance to use both I can compare why I liked each.
First, the TMobile MDA was a phone that had more features than the SideKick III, including WiFi receptivity, a low quality Video Camara and up to 4X magnification on still camara photos - it also had a basic form of voice recognition - but I never used it for that. The email connectectivity to AOL and Gmail worked, as far as it went, via SMS, but was not very good - a network password was often flashed onto screen - and a rejection of the password due to bandwidth issues somewhere in the network - and for days at a time I could not get mail on some of my accounts.
On the other hand, the Video Camara, while limited - was a nice addition - and with a 1 GB storage card - you could take quite a few movies and then if you liked them, post thme on YouTube and display on a blog. The wireless connectivity was also not very good, but functional - yet not much faster than regular phone network connectivity.
The problem with the MDA is it’s not designed well for every day use and is really easy to drop and break. The keyboard is also awkward an the whole device is slow and buggy.
Sidekick III
The TMobile SideKick III has no WiFi or Video Camara - but is far superior in what you can do it with it otherwise. The keyboard is wonderful, the IM chat client is fantastic - much, much better than the MDA, and internet connection via the EDGE network is now up to 4x faster than the SideKick II. The Sidekick III has a memory storage card you can put in - and I have my 1GB card I took from the MDA - the SideKick did not recognize any of my MDA work but the card works OK.
One of the problems with the SideKick III is the same as the SideKick II, the AOL mail client tries to download my entire email account (including all my saved mail - several metabytes worth) - for that reason alone - I can not use the email client. But I can browse well on the SideKick III.
The phone is OK and are the rest of the features.
If I had my way I’d add Video Moviemaking into the SideKick III - then I’d be happy.
Hope this review helps the people in IRAQ that were looking for a review of the SideKick III.
