One of the reasons I went to the MadArts opening - I had the idea of having my own studio space again recently and I created, in my mind, that opportunity - which I need to decide on in the next day or two.
But the other reason is there are interpersonal issues that are best worked out through art if I can just make the commitment to it.
All of the artists I spoke with today were very committed to their work and the artistic process as unfoldment.
Rachel Youens, who I did not meet, work struck me as very well done, very painterly.
The still lifes these paintings are based on is old rotting bread, any old thing in the studio that happens to be there is thrown in - the artist makes order of of it - makes art.
Susan Bowen's Photography also stood out at MadArts but I did not get to actually speak with her.

I also spoke with Peter Mallo - a sculpture of a sword in a plexiglass cube was facinating! I don't have a picture of it and I really enjoyed speaking with Peter about what was going on in that work.
All in all, it was a great afternoon and I was glad to have found artists who I can speak with and interesting art work close to me.
