Super Cool! Man… I am glad I work for the best blog network in existance today, Know More Media! I spent several hours talking with Tim Stay and Rich Christiansen at SESNY06 last month.

Tim Stay and his network of 55 blogs have donated ad space to the Big Moo. Thanks! Know More Media: The Big Moo Gets Free Advertising on Know More Media.

Know More Media has the best group of bloggers out there and we have the best people running KMM, like Dan Smith, Tim Stay, Rich Christiansen and Easton Ellsworth. Easton also liked my Homage to Manet painting, which got me inspired to share an image of the painting when I read one of Seth’s posts; and here’s another painting I also posted recently. And if I ever paint again, anytime soon, it will be because of people like Seth Godin and Tammy Crosby.

Thanks for the kind words. We are proud to be able to help such a great project as The Big Moo. We think our authors are all pretty “remarkable”.

I read somewhere that many SEO/SEM people were writers, artists; I think that’s also true of Web Analysts.

I don’t think I would paint the same way today, if i did paint again, but I’ve begun to incorporate that identity, as an artist, into my work as Webmetricsguru and, in my work at IBM (where a lot of my SEO/SEM work done outside IBM is enriching my work at IBM).

<p>Local governments generally deny that they use traffic tickets to raise revenue, but two economists who reviewed tickets issued in North Carolina <a href="http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/business/stories.nsf/yourmoney/story/7788F79C1BEA1C52862575360005B4AD?OpenDocument">drew conclusions</a> that tend to confirm a common suspicion: traffic tickets are more about generating dollars than public safety.</p> <blockquote>Traffic tickets go up significantly when local government revenue falls, they found. Their study showed for the first time evidence of how "local governments behave, in part, as though traffic tickets are a revenue tool to help offset periods of fiscal distress." ... <p>Controlling for other factors, a 1 percentage point drop in local government revenue leads to a roughly .32 percentage point increase in the number of traffic tickets in the following year, a statistically significant connection.</p></blockquote> <p>Rising unemployment rates also correlate with increased ticketing. As the recession pinches local budgets, expect more traffic citations to be issued.
