I saw some of these views from Brooklyn on 9/11 as I was finishing up a night shift working at the New York Stock Exchange’s mirrored data center in MetroTech, Brooklyn the morning of 9/11. The information came to be via Boing Boing.

I saw both buildings burn from as I went from MetroTech to take the F train home (saw the smoke) and once I got to the elevated part of the train ride near 4th Avenue, I saw one of the Towers burning from the distance - similar to what is shown here - except I was a couple of miles away, across the east river.
9/11 did mark a downturn in both my life and of many New Yorkers - for me it took a couple of years to recover any sense of normalcy in employment - the high tech industry that I worked for (Unix Servers- Disaster Recovery) became history for me and I was broke for a couple of years trying to make sense of it - to just get through it.
Then I recreated myself as an SEO Consultant and then Web Metrics Analyst which is what I do today.
Getting back to the pictures, I wish Brian Loube’s show was going on now - I’d have gone to see it at the Brooklyn Gallary it was showing at.
