FeedBurner turning your RSS feed into an email and sending it to your subscribers

Trying to digest if having FeedBurner’s RSS Feeds made into emails and emailed to my subscribers is going to make much or any difference.  Wierd, but I thought FeedBurner was there to get rid of email, not resurrect it.
