Since there’s more and more blogs out there, esp business blogs springing up, we might want to find a way to count the income created by our blogs.

Do some creative math, what do you get?
That’s a 5000% Return on Investment! That’s based on her calculation that her $14.95 / month account with TypePad triggered $1 million in new business for Forrester last year.
Now you tell me that business blogging, done right, can’t generate amazing results.
How does Charlene Li measure the money coming back to Forrester Research via her blogging activity on their behalf?
I’m curious as it’s something I’d like to try myself. Offhand, I can think of using a url with a unique tag depending on who your talking to.
For example - if I promoted my employer to Forreter and they ended up doing something with me, the url I’d have started with (I gave them) would be
Then, I’d have to track that something happened (ie: Forrester gave my company bussiness) and then I could keep a leger that counts that actual business numbers - the money.
At the end of the year - I could end up saying - my Blog generated $$$$ for my employer. Is that how she did it?
